Michelle: In this situation, I think honesty is the best policy. The very first question on the Metrodate questionnaire is: "Have you been married before?" This is a big deal to some people. When people are looking through profiles, this question might have some impact on whether or not they want to contact you (in addition to everything else, of course!) If they find out that you were lying later, they may not be happy.
Adrian: Some people are very judging, yes, but relationships that don't start with honesty and trust never work. How would you feel if you found out that someone you were interested in had left something important out of their description, something that might make you uncomfortable, or fundamentally incompatible? Some people will see that you are divorced and pass you by, yes. But some people won't pass you by. Be honest, and someone will be interested.
Michelle: Also, with divorce so prevalent today, it's probably not as a big deal to people as it used to be. You don't want to be with someone who can't accept you for who you are, so just be yourself. But, if you decide not to tell people right away, you must tell them before you get serious.
